Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore the construct of country-of-origin (COO) ecological image by investigating its various dimensions. To achieve this objective, we conducted a qualitative study in the Australian context, with two focus groups of consumers and interviews with professionals concerned by ecological products. Results suggest that the COO ecological image is a multi-faceted construct, composed of seven dimensions: political, technological, economic, historical, climatic, people’s characteristics, and eco-product attributes. The results also helped to identify the antecedents of the COO ecological image and its consequences for consumer reactions.
