When relatives can be used to support respect for the choices of the person at the end of life, the law recognizes a place for them, even if certain measures implemented could be improved. When relatives are not called to perform this function, the protection of their interests comes up against the autonomy of the patient and medical confidentiality. Nevertheless, texts tend to take them into account. They contain ambiguities, some of which deserve to be resolved.
