Le développement biotechnologique et de la génétique médicale à Cuba a favorisé l’accès à une partie de l’information génétique de la population. L’obtention, la conservation, la gestion et la divulgation de ces données doivent être encadrées par des normes bioéthiques et des régulations légales. Dans cet article, nous décrivons l’expérience dans la gestion de l’information génétique au sein du département de neurogénétique de l’Institut de Neurologie et Neurochirurgie, puis nous présentons quelques dilemmes éthiques auxquels nous devons fréquemment faire face.Abstract
The biotechnological and medical genetics development in Cuba has given rise to the possibility of accessing the precise genetic information about its population. Consequently, the collection, storage, processing, handling and disclosure of genetic data must be subject to appropriate security measures and respect for pronounced ethical standards and regulations, for their protection. The present work describes the experience of researchers from a Department of Neurogenetics in the management of genetic information, as well as mentions some of the ethical dilemmas that they face in their daily work.
