Abstract

Using a semio-discursive approach, this article analyzes the meaning of smart building/house in digital discourse. These analyzes are contextualized by the study of institutional reports focusing on new models of urban development. If the institutional discourse sets the smart city in the broader objective of the sustainable city ; on the web, the smart building/home is considered as first blocks of the smart city, a highly technological and centralized city where the human seems hardly find his place. Such differences highlight a symbolic struggle under the production of discourses on the future of the city.
